Ceremonial Brass Celebrates Fourth of July on Today Show
The United States Air Force Band's Ceremonial Brass will perform in New York City July 4 on NBC's "Today" show. This brass and percussion ensemble has celebrated Independence Day on the show twelve times since 1998. "It is such an honor to be able to represent the men and women of the Air Force and U.S. military on NBC's Today on the 4th of July," says Chief Master Sgt. This year, there will be two exciting opportunities to celebrate Independence Day with The United States Air Force Band in Washington, D.C. If you prefer to be in the middle of all the celebratory activities, you can catch us on the National Mall at 6 p.m. Or if you prefer to view the festivities from a panoramic view, then you have the option to come hear us the Air Force Memorial at 8 p.m.

The United States Air Force Band to March in 2012 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Macy's Parade officials thrilled the audience at the first outdoor concert of the summer with the announcement that The United States Air Force Band and Honor Guard will be marching in the 2012 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. "This Band represents our country in such a meaningful way," said Wesley Whatley, associate creative director of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Whatley also presented a Macy's official
drumhead to Air Force District of Washington commander Maj. Gen. Darren W. McDew, The U.S. Air Force Band commander Col. A. Phillip Waite and the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard commander Lt. Col. Raymond Powell.

The Airmen of Note Awarded 5th WAMMIE
The Airmen of Note have been awarded a WAMMIE Award from the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA). This is the fifth WAMMIE awarded to the Airmen of Note in recognition of their continuing popularity and dedicated service to the Air Force, and to the diverse jazz fans across the metropolitan DC area.
