Airmen of Note "60" New Downloads from the Airmen of Note

In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Airmen of Note, you can access five new tunes from our website. The tracks include "Sabre Jet" and "Loch Lomond" arranged by former "Note" arranger Sammy Nestico; "Uno Mas" and "Blues for Mundy" arranged by retired Senior Master Sgt. Roger Hogan; and "Night Clouds" arranged by retired Senior Master Sgt. Mike Crotty.

The selections are from "Airmen of Note 60," a retrospective recording detailing the history of the Air Force's premiere jazz ensemble--from its early roots in the Glenn Miller Army Air Forces Orchestra to the world-class big band of today. While you download the tracks from our website, feel free to read the history of the Note in the liner notes. We invite you to enjoy these new selections from "Airmen of Note 60."

"Following the music" should be the primary goal of writers, performers and conductors. But first you have to figure out where the "music" is going. And that requires humility, patience and good instincts, formed by lifelong study and experience.
