Technical Sgt. Robert Smith is a percussionist with Max Impact, The United States Air Force Band, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C. A native of Sarasota, Florida, his career in the Air Force began in Oct 2003.

Smith is a graduate of Venice High School in Venice, Florida, where he played drum set and percussion for numerous dinner theatres. He attended Troy University in Troy, Alabama, and Manatee Community College in Venice, Florida. Smith was a member of the Navy Band Great Lakes in Waukegan, Illinois, and a member of the Navy Band Northeast in Newport, Rhode Island. His former teachers include Sam Fredericks, Jeff Schortgen and Mike Sheppard.

Smith has worked and performed with industry greats such as the Gatlin Brothers, Kool and the Gang, George Duke, Michael Peterson, Jeffery Osbourne and "American Idol" Rueben Studdard.
